Katia Dermott is a curator, lens based artist, and writer. She received her BFA in photography from Maine College of Art & Design. Her work explores themes of loss, how people and land resist and reclaim themselves in the wake of sudden changes. Dermott has been exhibited nationally at venues including the Institute of Contemporary Art in Portland, Maine; the Maine Museum of Photographic Arts; and A Space Gallery in Brooklyn, New York. She’s been featured in publications including the Maine Magazine, One Twelve, and the Too Tired Project. Dermott’s work has been collected by the Bates College Museum of Art. She is founder of the Print Swap Project and co-creator of Little Death. She lives and works in Rockland, Maine.
